This sculptural lamp is part of a series where construction materials are used in an aesthetic manner. Steel reinforcement meshes are welded together to support the cables for the light bulbs. The rusty look of the steel bars contrasts with the smooth appearance of the concrete base. To accentuate the roughness of this design, red flexible tubes are used to guide the cables through. These construction materials are being used in the opposite way of what they are meant for.
